PBC0103: pride in place

PBC 103 conveys the Bolsheviks’ pride in what they consider to be their party’s and army’s leadership in spreading revolution around the globe, following the success of the Russian revolution (W318, W255). Beginning with Russia, this PBC views all major world cities, countries, compass points, and continents (W115, W116), including London and Istanbul, Germany and France, Africa and North America, north and south (W251, also W73 and W74)—as future homes of revolution (W388). As victory in Russia became more certain, the world, described as a “blue dress woven with red thread,” becomes the focal point for these writers (W115). Some instances also celebrate technology, such as telegraph and rail travel, that brings the ends of the earth together (W324).
