PBC0079: anxiety about future

PBC 79 expresses a nationalist feeling of anxiety about the future of the country while in the midst of political tumult and uncertainty. Russia becomes a land over which the “foul weather” of misfortune hangs. Thinking otherwise is shameful (W228). Birds of ill omen, the cuckoo and crow, hover around houses and stir dread among listeners (W9, W17). This feeling is enough to move some people to consider abandoning their country forever (W27).
