PBC0061: joy at victory

PBC 61 expresses jubilation at the Bolshevik victory. Russia is celebrated as an “untried force” that has awakened as a “free country” (W436). Long held in “heavy chains” (W430), it is now compared to a “fiery troika” (W209). The whole country breathes joy and determination: in the “flowing rivers, in the sea’s waves/ In the triumphant breath of the oceans!/ I hear a voice: ‘Onward and more boldly!’” (W259)
