PBC0195: mockery of elites

PBC 195 expresses Bolshevik mockery of elites, particularly of capitalists and wealthy people. Images include a grotesque vision of bankers who have “eaten the visage of Europe” (W59) and angry outburst blaming European capitalists and American farmers for causing the “hungry hell” of the late-Civil-War Volga region (W322). Elsewhere PBC 195 satirizes in bitter fashion wealthy Russians who have fled to south or north Russia and are mourning the loss of their wealth (W104, W366).
