PBC0167: loyalty to tsar

PBC167 describes the national pride in Russia inspired by loyalty to the Tsar. It expresses readiness to sacrifice life for this purpose. Works use this PBC to invoke powerful military pride and declare tsarist Russia's crucial role in the European front of the World War I. It presents Russia as a savior of Europe. One example invokes solidarity among soldiers in fighting “For the glory of great Russia,/ For the cause of friendly nations” (W39).
