PBC0157: loyalty to nation

PBC 157 proudly proclaims loyalty to the Russian homeland, its physical territory, and the broader concept of the Russian idea. Expressions of this pride range considerably. Some feel, though recognizing the “great calls of Humanity,” a powerful love for “my fatherland, my dear native land” (W517). In another instance, this pride is the reaction to witnessing the wonders of the natural Russian environment, such as the “Finnish rock slabs, the granite of the Urals, the boulders of Valdai, and the Volga’s crushed rock” (W301). Yet another compares “the Trinity of God and the flag. The Russian anthem—and Russian expanses” (W483).
