PBC0291: arrogant confidence

PBC 291 conveys pride and confidence in Bolshevik worker-soldiers fighting for the Volga region. The Volga becomes a metaphor for worker and soldiers’ physical power, in one instance, pictured as a male worker who has ripped open the collar of his shirt and is showing his bronze chest (W117) and, in another instance, an image of the Red Army, which like the Volga, marches ever onward but has no headwaters and no delta (W318).
