PBC0196: mockery of Russia
PBC 196 conveys mainly Bolshevik satirical humor mocking Russian backwardness. Russia is associated with ancient, superstitious thinking that resists anything new (W118, W 313). One example calls Russia an “Asiatic country” (W189) and a “country that devours its people” (W95). Two adopt the voice of an ignorant, ill-spoken person who calls Russia “Rashia” and thinks nostalgically about tsarist times (W106).
