PBC0044: mockery of army

PBC 44 performs satire of Russian military weakness. It takes aim at political ambitions abroad combined with poverty at home and problems in the army. The political leaning is Bolshevik. W0095 mocks the old empires that have now dissolved as “borders were all blurred.” Another example points to the military weakness at the front, “The Russian front is a spiderweb,” and Russia by 1918 is “without defense” (W106).
