PBC0161: filial love of Mother Russia

PBC 161 expresses a powerful filial love specifically for “Mother Russia” (Matushka Rossiia), which is stronger even than the love for fatherland and homeland (rodina) conveyed through PBC 163. Some cases stress that Mother Russia is Orthodox Christian (W156). Sometimes Mother Russia (or Mother Rus’) is a unifying idea to be defended (W34), while in other examples it has agency and power to unite. One example exclaims that “our Mother Russia will not be broken by our enemies” (W163). Another example heralds Mother Russia as the “voice” calling all Slavs to unite against the Germans (W155).
